2. What data is collected

When you visit the website, we process technical access data, including your IP address, user agent, time of access, pages visited, and server logs. If you subscribe to our newsletter or contact us by email or phone, we process the information you voluntarily provide, including your email address, name, company, role, phone number, and message.

3. Purposes of data processing

We process personal data to respond to inquiries, prepare for confidential initial meetings, manage the newsletter mailing list, operate the website securely, analyze errors, and measure audience reach anonymously.

4. Legal bases

We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the GDPR applies, we base processing on your consent, steps taken before entering into a contract, or legitimate interests in operating a secure, functional website.

5. Retention period

We generally delete server logs within 30 days unless a security-related review is required. We process newsletter registrations for as long as you remain on the mailing list and permanently honor unsubscribe requests. We retain contact inquiries for as long as necessary to respond, follow up, and maintain legal documentation of the inquiry.

6. Recipients and service providers

We use technical service providers for hosting, email, analytics, and newsletter form processing. These include Vercel for hosting and audience measurement that minimizes data collection, and Microsoft 365 for email correspondence.

7. Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter through the website, we process your email address and any voluntarily provided information, such as your name and company. We email this information to the people responsible for the newsletter within the SEU Group and use it to manage the mailing list. We manage the mailing list internally through Microsoft 365. The newsletter is published in German. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing christian.vetsch@seu.ch.

8. Transfers to third countries

Our service providers Vercel Inc. (hosting) and Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft 365) also process data in the United States. Both are certified under the Data Privacy Framework (DPF). The adequacy decision of the Swiss Federal Council has applied to certified US companies since September 15, 2024. Standard contractual clauses are also in place.

9. Your rights

You may request access to the personal data we process about you. Where provided for by law, you may also request rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, or data portability, or object to processing. You may withdraw your consent at any time, with the withdrawal applying to future processing. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) or a competent EU supervisory authority. Please send inquiries to info@seu.ch.

10. Cookies and tracking

We use Vercel Web Analytics, an audience measurement service integrated into our hosting, without tracking cookies or personal user profiles. We do not use third-party marketing cookies. We serve fonts and map images through our own hosting rather than retrieving them from Google or other third-party providers.

11. Contact for data protection matters

If you have questions about data protection, please contact info@seu.ch.

12. Changes

We update this policy when the website, our service providers, or legal requirements change. The current version published on this page applies. In case of doubt, the German version of this policy prevails.
